The Għajnsielem local council in collaboration with the environmental conservation organisation AMPPA held the final AMPPA event for this summer on Saturday 13th August with ’Echoes from the Seas’ festival following a week-long events dedicated to various aspects of the sea around us. A video showcasing our coastline was launched in an information corner hosted by renowned marine biologist Prof. Alan Deidun provided interesting facts about our Marine Protected Areas.

The major event, Echoes by the Sea was highly promoted on social media even through paid adverts in order to reach a great target of audience. The event consisted of a musical night which commenced with a local band The Novel and than proceeded with a well-known band The Travellers which is a crowd puller. The night ended up with a DJ session. The audience was a numerous one and consisted of all generations but mainly the young generation. The event which was a very successful one, entailed detailed preparations and a group of helpers has been set. A promotional t-shirt has been printer for the helpers in order to promote the project and banners have been placed and scattered in all the area. The event has been held in the Ghajnsielem Parking Area.
